Ein geheimnisvoller 6. Dezember!

"lueg emaaal zum Fänschter uus und übere zum Nachbarhuus! Was isch das deete für en Maa? En roote Mantel hät er aa"

 Als die Kinder von der Pause zurück kamen, fanden sie einen Sack im Gruppenraum... Woher ist der nur gekommen? Was ist im Sack drin?

 Nach langem Überlegen, haben wir uns getraunt einen Blick rein zu werfen...

 Wir fanden einen Brief vom Nikolaus im Sack! Es war sehr spannend zu hören was er uns sagen wollte! Der Nikolaus hat uns gut beobachtet im letzten Jahr!

Wir haben Nüsse, Mandarinen und Schokolade bekommen! Danke lieber Nikolaus!

"It's good to talk!"

As part of our ongoing project about our class community, we have been learning about different ways of talking.

The children sorted out examples and acted out good and poor versions that people talk to each other.

We created this tree from comments and captions that we discussed in Class Council and during our social studies lessons about friendship and citizenship.

 

Advent decorations - yes it's that time of year again!

Grade 2 did really well creating these star lanterns from pentagons.
The 3D shape created was nearly a dodecahedron.

This was certainly not an easy project, but now the first floor corridor
is transformed in time for Advent.

Unsere Zähne sind uns sehr wichtig!

Zweimal im Jahr kommt die Zahnputzfrau vorbei! Sie zeigt uns wie wir unsere Zähne richtig putzen müssen!

Wir sollten auch daran denken, die Zahnbürste regelmässig mit einer neuen zu ersetzen! So nach 2 - 3  Monaten! 

Wir passen alle gut auf um unsere Zähne gesund zu behalten!

Autoren - Vorlesung im November

 Herr Geraldino Grashausser, ein Kinderautor  und Musiker aus Deutschland, hat uns diese Woche besucht und tolle Gedichte und Lieder mit uns geübt! Wir haben eine Bildergeschichte kennengelernt, viele Reime gehört und sind in einer Fantasiewelt eingetaucht!

 

 

 Am Schluss gab es noch einen "Rapp" über das Märchen von Rotkäppchen! Die Zeit flieg einfach davon! Vielen Dank Herr Geraldino! Es hat uns allen grossen Spass gemacht!

Wald und Holz Morgen

 

Die Schwäne haben heute einen tollen Herbstmorgen mit dem Kindergarten erlebt. Sie haben in Gruppen verschiedene Posten zum Thema Wald und Holz durchgeführt.

Bei einem Posten konnten die Kinder hammern und 20 Minuten Skulpturen basteln! Bei einem anderen gab es ein Blätter Memory und ein "Helikopter"  - Fliegen! Der Morgen hat allen grossen Spass gemacht!

Skype Exchange - Baltimore

On Friday 30th September the beavers and swans gathered together we made our first contact with another school 

using the internet communication technology Skype.

The grade 2 students prepared questions that could be asked to an "alien". The children didn't know who they were contacting or where they came from. 

This made them really think carefully about what they were asking, and 

not just to ask (closed) Yes/No questions!

  The kindergarten students at the Calvert school in Baltimore, Maryland, USA prepared questions of their own. Despite being younger than our class, the Calvert students had more experience with Skype exchanges than us.

 We even managed to sing our "Flat Stanley" song and send it 6614km away!

As Baltimore is 6 hours behind we needed to make the call at the end of the day. 

The children at both ends of the Skype line found it funny that at SIS we were finishing the school day and the American students were just arriving at school.

September Exercise

All students from Kindergarten to Grade 4 went out on our yearly "September Bummel"! This year we visited the beautiful countryside around Muri and visited the playground and farm animals at Muri-Moos.

Our last chance to see the animals. These cattle must have been even hotter than we were!
